10th Commandment: December 5

Dec 5, 2012

If you aren’t fond of dresses, or your holiday parties are more casual than that, try a tuxedo jacket with jeans or trousers.  This could also be a great way to dress up for an after work party.  Wear your suit to the office, and switch out the jacket, put on some red lipstick and a bit of jewelry, and you’re good to go.

Stella McCartney Triple Lapel Tuxedo Jacket ($1,965)

Hill Staffer

Milly Iris Tuxedo Jacket ($425)

Love the leather lapels with the pale blush color!

Paid Intern

The Limited Tuxedo Jacket ($89)

I’ve tried this jacket on–the fabric is nice for the price and the weight is good.

Thanks for JC Penney option! Was going to point out that Eloquii, the Limited's plus size line sells the same jacket in plus sizes, but the white version is sold out! They still have a tuxedo jacket in hot pink. The price is $139, but they have a lot of 40% off sales.

    Belle,

I LOVE the sharp and modern look of a white tuxedo jacket! However, as an attorney, a white tuxedo jacket just wouldn't make the cut for court so I couldn't justify investing in the more expensive options. Thank you for this post – I snatched the Paid Intern version at 50% off and can't wait to wear it to a holiday party this weekend! This was a perfect price point for a 'play time' outfit.

That being said, while I can come up with multiple variations of black and white and/or jeans to wear with this jacket, I am having trouble imaging how and if this might work with some more colorful pieces. Any ideas other than accessories?
