Ellen Tracy Colby High Boot (Loehmann’s, $150)

After three winters of continuous wear, my beloved Ciao Bella Glaucia boots need to be retired.  I scoured eBay for months hoping that perhaps a pair would become available, but no dice.  So I am forced to consider other options.  Sad face.

These Ellen Tracy boots look like a good option, but the ones I really want are Loeffler Randall and WAY out of my price range.  Need some under-$100 options?  These Impo boots fit the bill, and if you would prefer low wedges these boots from Express are what you’re looking for.

  1. Are these comfortable? I need a new pair of tall blacks, but walking comfort is a must.

Have you seen any cute wide calf options? I am having the HARDEST time finding a pair of heeled black boots for work

  3. Always a NYer says:

For wide calf options, check out Duo Boots. They measure by shoe and calf size so your boots can be customized to you. It's a UK company but their customer service and shipping policies are great. I got fitted for the Ravenna boots when I was in London but if you email them your measurements they'll let you know what boots would fit you best. Hope that helps!

If you do ever decide to splurge, I can vouch for the quality of Loeffler Randall boots. I've got a pair of the lower-heeled “Matilde” style, and they are fantastic. They have about a 1.5 inch wedge heel. Very sleek. Dressy enough for work, but still cute with jeans. I love equestrian style boots but don't feel comfortable wearing them to work, and these are a great solution. Also, less preppy.

I got mine at the saks friends and family sale last year, which is about the only way I've seen to get a discount on them as they never go on sale.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
