Camel Wool-twill Pencil Skirt (J.CREW, $130)

I don’t wear a lot of brown, but camel is just too good to pass up.  It pairs beautifully with color, as well as with black.  If you’d like a similar skirt for less, Mango has a similar skirt for $50.

Belle, this is my pressing question for the day. In your 2 out of 3 rule, what color tights do you sandwich between a camel skirt and light brown/”cognac” boots?

  2. Belle says:

ebb: either no tights or nude small weave fishnets.

  3. T says:

How did you know that I was in the market for a camel wool skirt? timely

  4. KC says:

I just bought this skirt and the matching jacket. I got compliments the first day I wore it, but the skirt wrinkled pretty badly in the front, and it was VERY noticable–more so than my black version.

  5. Anni says:

H&M also has a similar camel/”beige” skirt currently for around $29.95 I believe. I bought it two weeks ago and I love it! The fabric is very soft and the skirt is well-made, with clean lines. Also it doesn't crease easily through the day and is very flattering.

  6. JulieY says:

A number of people who follow J Crew Aficionada (JCAs) feel the quality of this skirt has gone down, even compared to this year's version. I actually liked the sterling skirt (a little more A-line, online only) in same color a little better, but I already have so many pencil skirts so that may be why I'm leaning toward a slightly different shape.

  7. SLG says:

I love J. Crew pencil skirts, but I too get nasty wrinkling across the front every time I wear them–to the point that I have to get them drycleaned before they're actually dirty, just to get the wrinkles professionally steamed out. And that's even when I'm wearing a size that's a tad too big for me (I'm between sizes, and haven't had the skirt taken in yet). Anyone know of a decent-quality brand that's less prone to this?

    It's actually $17.95; even better!

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
