Ciao Bella Tad Boots (Amazon, $120)

I own these boots, so I can personally attest to their sheer awesomeness.  They are comfortable thanks to a rubber sole and lightly padded footbed (If I wear cotton socks, I can wear them all day, walk all I want and not feel a thing.).  And they wear extremely well.  I’ve owned two pair of these boots (one cognac, one black), worn both pairs to death (we’re talking 3-4 days per week) and they still look great.

In fact, I love them so much that I just bought an extra pair of black and an extra pair of cognac, so that when the other pairs wear out, I’ll have a backup.

Check back at 1:00PM for Two Ways to wear these boots.

…and I just scored the last pair of 5.5's in black for $80. Thanks, Belle!

  2. S says:

I picked up a cognac pair at DSW last fall for $70 and have been in love with them ever since. A terrific, long-lasting boot for an incredibly affordable price!

  3. Chloe says:

How tall are these boots? I can't tell. Do they go just up under the knee, over the knee..?

  4. Melissa says:

I've needed to replace my black boots I've been wearing for the last 5 years–good timing!

  5. Belle says:

    Chloe: Just to the knee.

  6. CH says:

Can anyone speak to Ciao Bella sizing? Is it pretty true to size? Thanks!

  7. Heather says:

I have 3 pairs of these boots! CH, with medium weight cotton socks they are true to size.

  8. ayemme says:

Does anyone know of a good brand of boots with extended calf sizes?

  9. Katie says:

ayemme – For just a standard looking boot (like the ones Belle posted today), I really like Fitzwell. They make a wide calf and an extra wide calf option in most styles and they are incredibly comfortable. I own the Molasses wide calf (called Jelly in regular calf and Syrup in extra-wide, I believe) and they are awesome! Highly recommended and not crazy pricey for what you get.

  10. S says:

ayemme – etienne aigner makes some great wide shaft boots.

  11. LS says:

Hey Belle – do you have an opinion on whether flat black boots or heeled black boots are more useful? I can only afford one pair of boots per winter.

  12. ellen says:

Belle, I have been looking for the cognac ones for a while, where did you find them in stock?

    Thanks!

  13. MidWestChic says:

Just bought these boots in cognac from DSW last week for $100 and I cannot wait to wear them! Looking forward to your 3-ways post!

  14. Caroline says:

@Shannon: Weird, they still claim to have one pair of size 5.5 in black but they're $135.99 now!

  15. r says:

LS- I wear my low-heeled black boots all of the time in the winter. I can wear them with pants, skirts, dresses… and all over the place! They're great for walking around (mine are super comfortable up until the 6th hour of straight walking). And they're dressy enough for most occassions. I think heeled boots are slight dressier, but not quite as versatile. Just my two cents!

  16. Allison says:

Ayemme, Ciao Bella used to make these boots in wide calf. I have them in cognac and black and bought them at DSW 2 years ago (I think).

  17. Shannon says:

Caroline – I think I got the last pair available via Amazon Prime, the other seller is Heels.com or some such thing. So the non-Amazon seller has a higher price.

  18. Belle says:

Ellen: I bought them at DSW online, they call them something else though, the tabby, maybe.

LS: just depends on your preference, I have no issue wearing a clean, polished low boot to work. Some people do though and go for a low heel.

  19. Lauryn says:

Looks like MYHABIT has these exact boots on sale today for $80. Limited colors and sizes.

  20. Julia says:

How would you recommend caring for these boots? Do you waterproof them?

  21. Becky says:

I adore these. I also own them in black in cognac, and I just had to break out my backup congac pair after I wore the first ones to death and beyond (took a really long time of constant wear). These boots are winners.
