Michael Kors Slim Crepe Dress (Bergdorf Goodman, $1,995)

Finishing up unaffordable dress week is this blackberry-colored crepe stunner from Michael Kors.  If I had a favorite work look, it would be long-sleeved dresses in simple shapes, like this one.  Too bad this dress would eat up my whole paycheck.

Luckily, this is one area in which the options are plentiful.

If you’re looking for a neutral basic for fall/winter, I found a stylish dress that comes in both grey and black.  I also found a similar dress in navy.  And if you’d prefer a basic v-neck sweater dress, Land’s End has lots of great colors and sizes for under-$50.

Plus sized?  This faux wrap from Ralph Lauren is stylish and simple. And this Michael Kors Belted Dress comes in both blue and grey.

Thanks for including some plus sized options!

It's been…strange seeing all these options with every post. I don't remember always seeing that on here. I've been reading for at least three years, and it seems like the tone has changed recently to be more friendly/relatable or…something. Can't put my finger on it exactly. It's not a bad thing, just a head scratcher.

Kelly: I've just had more time recently to put into the blog, and someone had made a suggestion on a “what would you like to see on the blog” post awhile back that this would be a helpful addition.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Ask the Editor: Vol. IV, No. Eighteen

Before we start today’s reader questions, I wanted to take a moment to talk a bit about mental health. For those who experience mental health challenges — whether occasionally or frequently — talking about our struggles is a double-edged sword.
