Campaign staff live in denim. And, in my opinion, every campaign staffer should pack two pair of jeans: one bootcut and one skinny for tucking into boots.
As for brands, I’m fairly loyal to AG jeans. I own a couple of pair of Joe’s, a pair of Citizens and a pair of Sevens, but I always come back to the AGs. Always.
AG Ballad Slim Cut Jeans ($172)
The top pair are the Angel jeans, my all-time favorite. The lower pair are the Ballad jeans, cut slim enough to tuck into boots but not too skinny for those of us with hips.

Ann, I got mine at Bloomingdales in Friendship Heights. Nordstrom carries the line as well but I've never looked in store.

Belle, I may be the most awkward person ever at attempting to tuck anything other than a jegging into boots. Any tips for the inept pant tuckers of the world? Thx!
Just wanted to say that I'm really looking forward to your upcoming denim post today! I wonder if you have any advice for those of us with relatively curvy hips/butts but (relative) sticks for thighs? I love skinny jeans, but I have a really difficult time shopping for denim with ample enough room and support for my tush. That, or there's too much additional fabric between the butt cheeks and the back of the thighs, so that when I walk, the fabric rubs together and makes it sound as if I'm giving off mini-farts. Kind of ruins the classy image that I like to project.
Belle, is it okay to hem bootcut jeans for flats or should they remain for high heel use only? I read somewhere that you should only wear straight leg jeans/skinnies with flats.
Where can I get a good pair of petite corduroys? Do you suggest skinny or bootcut? I'm a shorty at 5'1.
