Polyvore Set Here.

For the Office.  No, not everyone can or should wear sequins to the office.  But I would choose this for a Friday at the end of session.  And since a lot of Americans work in casual environments, they probably can too.

This outfit plays with colorblocking by matching the mint stripe to a similarly colored cardigan.  It would be a good choice for a woman who has a date or an event after work.  Just lose the cardigan and add lipstick and more eyeliner

I own this bag in the red (on sale for $298) and it is fabulous.  It can get a little heavy if you over pack it, but I think the pockets make it an excellent work tote.

For the hair, I would wear it down in some loose waves or half-up if you need it out of your face.  For the makeup, keep it simple and neutral during the day and punch it up with a red lip at night.

For Sunday Brunch.  This outfit is all about mixing the raspberry bag with the mint and navy top.  It’s a color combination that I can really get behind because it’s a bit unexpected but still understated.

I chose white denim for the end of summer, but you could also do a skinny navy pant or regular blue jeans.  A simple sandal, a fun drop earring and the wonderful stone ring finish off the outfit.

For the hair, I would wear it down with a little bit of beachy texture.  For the makeup, I’d play up my cheeks with bronzer and blush and use a glossy pink-coral color on my lips.

Question – you mention that you have the J.Crew Biennial Satchel in Red. Having looked at the measurements on the website (11H x 16W), it seems a regular laptop would fit into one of the large sections. Does it? I'm thinking about a new bag for going back to school, and am for sure considering this one (though I wish it had a shoulder strap of some kind). Thanks Belle!

  2. Belle says:

No, I would say it's not big enough because the bag tapers significantly toward the top.

I just got this blouse and actually posted it on my blog yesterday! I paird the tank with magenta J.crew pants for a casual dinner out. I can't believe you paired the tank with magenta as well! Great minds!

  4. Mint and Navy. It is the new Navy and Kelly Green. Navy is also an excellent way to extend mint beyond the summer.

Love both outfits. Though sequins are completely out of the question as office wear for me. Sadly.

BB: I thought the same thing re: kelly green.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
