10th Commandment: June 13

Jun 13, 2012

I own two blouses in this style.  I like to wear them with pencil skirts or over skinny jeans.  They’re very forgiving after a week full of big meals and little exercise.  I think because they look intentionally blousy all the time, they can masque a number of sins as long as what you wear them with is fitted.

On a related note, please don’t wear peasant blouses with peasant skirts.  It’s a look I’ve seen far too many times.  The truth is, you can have too much volume. Unless, of course, you’re talking about hair and then, there can never be too much volume. *wink*

The higher the hair, the closer to God, right?

On another note, is there ever an appropriate time to wear a peasant skirt?

I bought one of the Tucker for Target blouses when I needed something in a pinch, I wear it constantly. I love the shape and as you mentioned it's a great option to cure a whole host of body issues. I've been looking for just the right print to buy another blouse from their line, I have my eye on a few of their dresses as well but really need to get into a store to try one on.

Since Sloane was born, I’ve fallen hard into a black, white, and blue wardrobe. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but as spring blooms, I need a little color in my wardrobe (and probably a little print too). Here are a few tops that caught my eye for work.

Too Many Tabs: April 19, 2024

This week, I fell mindlessly into my phone more than I think I ever have. My screen time went from 3.5 hours per day to 5 hours per day. But the increased eye strain did lead to some good finds. Just going to leave this right here.  (I really need to work on “Didn’t make […]
