Yes! yes! yes! Clunky shoes make women walk badly. They make skinny legs look like sticks and chunky legs look like furniture. May they disappear into the fashion void and never find their way out again.

Love this! I really need to branch out into cute sandals- I seem to default to my Rainbows all summer. I suffer from a bit of a cankle so a lot of strappy sandals don't work for me 🙁

I like these shoes but I need a little more height. I would love a dressy summer wedge option.

I actually feel like black is the one color I never wear in the summer (outside of the office). I would love to see an outfit with these at some point!

I second LS's request to see summer outfits with black sandals! I bought a pair of non-clunky black sandals last summer and then returned them two months later when I realized that I hadn't worn them because I always reached for metallic sandals instead. I was just never sure what to do with them.

Ha…I clicked on your links and now google ads is bombarding my sidebars with hideous, clunky shoes. So sad.

so true! ugh, so many women in my office wear these all summer (and with reinforced toe suntan hose). also, my mother in law wears them with a toe ring. so gross.

I have short, muscular legs, and I worry about ankle straps shortening my leg line. Is this a legitimate concern, or am I overthinking? What about if the shoe was some color other than black. Say, yellow or nude?

Emily: It is a legitimate concern. For some women, their legs just aren't built to look good in an ankle strap. Try a slingback instead.
