Belle, I know the idea is to show ways to wear an item, and that item may be something we could find anywhere, but it would be helpful to showcase an item that's not just available in XL and XXL.

  2. Ellie says:

Really? Chambray shirts are sold EVERYWHERE.
It took me 30 seconds to find this. https://tinyurl.com/76q44wh

  3. Belle says:

Anon-I really have no control over whether an item sells out in the two days between the time I write the posts and the time it posts. Perhaps, you could stop by an Old Navy in person and see if they have it in stock. Or, scroll through the widget to find a replacement.

  4. Anon says:

I'm not saying that it's difficult to find a chambray shirt — they are everywhere, in many different shapes and styles, as demonstrated in the widget. But if I recall correctly, Belle, you often note specific features of an item, and there's surely a reason why you picked this one in particular (which has also caught my eye, so I know it's been sold out in the smaller sizes for weeks). I'm just telling you that as a reader, I would find it helpful if the products you choose to highlight were available for purchase rather than just telling me to find something similar. Otherwise, why not just pick another product?

  5. Belle says:

When I wrote this post on Saturday night, every size was available but XS and Small Petite. It sold out in the intervening days. I have no control over that.

  6. S says:

Anon – Get over it, and try using your imagination a bit.

  7. Jes says:

Anon- Old Navy & Gap online always have a quick revolving door of available items. Chambray shirts are super easy to find. If for some reason you're in love with this one in particular, Old Navy (or Gap, Inc. in general) will ALWAYS do a Send/Ship for you if you call in to a store & if that store doesn't have your size.

  8. Anon says:

I'm afraid all of you have missed the point of my comment. I really don't care about the chambray shirt — Lord knows there are lots to choose from. I was merely telling Belle that, from my perspective as a reader, it would be helpful if items featured were ones that are available for purchase. Though I know this blog isn't your full-time job, perhaps you could double-check before a post goes live to ensure that items you're featuring have not been sold out. I thought this was honest and polite feedback, though it's evident it did not come through is such.

  9. Belle says:

Sell outs happen, but they happen rarely. I'm sorry if the shirt you wanted was sold out. But I'm not going to start double checking the dozens of items posted each week to make sure that each one is available in every size.

  10. Aja says:

Anon I see what you're saying, and when she she wrote the post, they had it in stock. But you should check the store, because the store usually has tons of everything. AND . . . if they don't have it, they can find it at another store (that's how I ended up with my $5 awesome swimsuit at the end of the summer). Old Navy is good like that.

  11. Belle says:

Anon-I get what you're saying, it's frustrating. But that seems like a lot of extra time to prevent something that happens once in a blue moon.

  12. EAC says:

Well, the shirt is available in my size, so I'm not complaining. Belle cannot make everybody happy everytime. She'll catch you on the next go round. Sheesh!!!

  13. what she said says:

Anon – totally get what you're saying here. It is a letdown when you see something you love on here then realize it's not in your size. But the good thing? The Internet is a big big place and you can usually search on polyvore or shopstyle or whatever. That seems to be what the blog does anyways. Totally easy solution if it happens again. I'm sorry your comments were misunderstood. You had a valid point. It's nice to be able to fulfill that want for instant gratification when you see something you like.

  14. Michelle says:

Yes, please ensure there is sufficient inventory of all items you blog about, Belle, for every one of your readers. We can even email you our sizes and you can create a spreadsheet to compare with current inventory levels, as well as future sales projections for items you like.

  15. VA says:

This is fashion blog, not a retail site. It isn't Belle's job to ensure that every item she posts is available in every size. Most of the “I take a picture of myself every day” fashion bloggers don't even have links to the pieces they're wearing.

  16. what she said says:

Jeez Michelle. You took it to a whole new sarcastic, obnoxiously exaggerated level. Way to try to make another person (who admitted she was trying to be polite!) feel like an asshole. And VA? There are better blogs out there if the ones you read are not providing that info.

  17. VA says:

what she said – I don't need that info and I think those blogs (and Belle's, too) are great. I look at fashion blogs to get inspired and think about my own wardrobe in new ways, not to buy someone's exact outfit. I understand why the anonymous commenter was disappointed because that shirt is really cute, but we as readers should be realistic about Belle's lack of control over the inventory of any item she posts.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.
