  1. L says:

Belle, could you issue a PSA to women to check their skirt's slit? I am so sick of seeing people's underwear!!

  2. ADL says:

Can I also add to L's comment and say, if you are wearing a sweater and it doesn't cover your bottom, throwing on tights does not make it any more appropriate. (I'm looking at you, woman, whom I had to follow up the metro stairs and got quite an eyeful last night). Put on some clothes, please.

  3. Montana says:

Thanks for bringing this up — women who walk up the escalator need to be especiaily careful in short skirts – I have seen way too much!!

  4. Belle says:

I wrote a PSA about both these issues a few weeks ago, what can I say, people need to cover their nether regions better than they do.

  5. Kate says:

As a side note about the skirt PSAs, women in a-line skirts needs to be especially careful on escalators, regardless of the skirt length. A few weeks ago, the cops caught a creep taking pictures up my knee length skirt on the metro escalators.

  6. amy b.s. says:

    that is a geat skirt.

  7. Dr. Jean Grey says:

Re: skirts on escalators. I was behind a young woman (23-25ish?) wearing a really cute flippy skirt the other day. As soon as she got on the escalator it kept flipping ALL the way up in the back. She was wearing a thong. You could see her whole booty. I felt so bad for her. It really seemed like she had no idea. I contemplated running up the stairs and taking her aside, but I'm 6 months pregnant and just can't move that fast right now. I was flabbergasted.

  8. Roberta says:

I saw this skirt, shrieked in delight, and immediately bought it. Recently discovered your blog, and am addicted. I don't have nearly as much time to shop as I would like, and really, I just need someone to tell me what the hell to wear, and where to get it. You have great suggestions for both professional and casual wear.

The Find: An Affordable Work Dress

This winter was particularly hard on my psyche, on my self-esteem, and on my waistline. As we move into spring, I need to make a plan for how I am going to dress this additional weight over the months of work that it will likely take to shed it. So I was so glad to […]
