BPGP: Lumiere d'hiver Hair Masque

Oct 25, 2011

As you know, I am smitten with Birchbox, the purveyors of deluxe beauty product samples.  Each month, I love nothing more than to tear open my new box and see what treasures are inside.  Not every product is a medicine cabinet staple, but I always find at least one new thing that I adore.

This month, I discovered one of the most nourishing, hydrating conditioners that I have ever used.  And hydration is important when you use as much heat on your hair as I do.

Number 4 Lumiere d’hiver Reconstructing Masque ($58) has a balm-like texture that makes it really easy to use.  Too often, conditioners are so runny that they drip off before they can penetrate your locks.

After just a week of use, my hair is already improved.  My ends are neater, my scalp is less dry and my hair has the kind of bouncy volume that only healthy hair can achieve.

Also, I’ve always been a bit lazy about my hair color.  After all, dye jobs are expensive.  Using this product, however, really perked up my color and gave my hair a radiance that it hasn’t had in a good long while.

No, this conditioner is not cheap.  Frankly, it’s down right expensive.  However, if you’re desperate to save your color-treated, permed, sun bleached or heat damaged locks, this product is like a miracle.  My hair has never looked better…ever.

I adore this stuff. I got a sample in my August Birchbox and couldn't believe how awesome it was when I used it. I just did my own blog review last week – I'm now a convert to the whole No. 4 brand. Along with the masque I would highly recommend the Comb and Protect Spray – it keeps the frizzies down when I blow-dry and helps nourish in-between masques. So glad Birchbox discovered this stuff!

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
