Three Ways: Geren Ford Silk Blouse

Jun 14, 2011

Polyvore Set Here.

Yes, this outfit is a bit pricier than usual, but I had to find a way to use the skirt.  It was imperative.

This skirt is very Kim Novak in Vertigo.  I love the way it drapes and folds.  Paired with the simple blouse and the pumps, it really lets the skirt shine.

I chose blue accessories because I didn’t want to over do it.  I was trying to maintain a subtle sophistication.  And of course, if you’re going to channel a movie star, you need the movie star shades.

“It’s my blog and I want to showcase bright yellow pants!”  That was the phrase heard last night when I was talking to my Mom on the phone.  It could have been just the strep-induced fever, or maybe I just like this pants, who knows?

I love the green necklace with the yellow.  I think it’s so fresh and summery, and perfect for a night strolling down the city streets to an event.  And while these shoes are not perfect, I really wanted a wooden heel to lighten up the look.  Which is why I also chose the straw clutch and the vintage-y sunnies.

Allow me to set the scene: Sangria, bacon-fried dates, sitting on the cobblestones next to Jaleo, chatting about life.  This is the kind of easy, breezy outfit that is perfect for cocktails on the roof deck and good conversation.

I love the big stone bracelet, it’s a great statement piece to dress up any outfit.  And the skirt’s fruit punch color is great for warm weather or with navy and grey separates in the cool weather.

OMG love love love all three!!

  2. Ms. B says:

Good Lord! You weren't kidding about the yellow pants. Just whose attention are you trying to get?!? They are statement making and I hate to admit it, but I like them with the together look you created. Whew!

  3. KLo says:

I have those Seychelles flats (thank you, Belle) and they are amazingly comfortable. Every time I put them on my feet I marvel at the softness of the leather.

  4. valerie says:

The yellow pants are amazing with that shirt, but $500+ is too expensive for me (unless I wanted to not pay rent). Belle, if you find something similar in a lower price range, let us know!

  5. Me says:

Geren Ford top is sold out, juicy sunglasses sold out… maybe if you are going to feature something, post things that are actually available?

  6. Belle says:

The Geren Ford top is NOT sold out. You can still buy sizes 4 and 6 here. https://www.theoutnet.com/product/216249?cm_mmc=LinkshareUS-_-Custom-_-Link-_-Builder&siteID=Hy3bqNL2jtQ-xt1EITmUbhjD8a2g_Ip4Hg

And the sunglasses aren't sold out either: still $60 at Nordstrom. I don't know why you think they're sold out, but they're not.

Maybe before you leave condescending comments, you could make sure your information is actually accurate?

  7. Me says:

If I click the link on the polyvore set, it says, “This item appears to be out of stock.”

Sorry that letting you know that you are posting items that are listed as unavailable is condescending.

  8. Katie says:

KLo, do the Seychelles flats run true to size?

  9. Belle says:

    Me-

I'm sorry about that. I'm fighting strep and a double ear infection, and have a razor thin temper today. That's on me.

I don't know why Polyvore thinks the items are out of stock, they're clearly not. I try hard to choose pieces that are available for sale, but since most of the posts are written on the weekend, sometimes they sell out.

  10. KLo says:

@Katie – I'm a weird 8.5/9, kinda wide ball and narrow heel in comparison, and the 8.5 fits me very nicely. So take that as you may 🙂
