Business Casual: Flirty Sophisticate

Apr 27, 2011

Polyvore Set Here.

If you’d like to master mixing patterns, the easiest way to do so is by pairing dots and stripes in the same color palette.  Here, I’ve constructed a look with a bit of Parisian flair.

Because the outfit is composed of black and ivory neutrals, I decided to add a simple, red flat.   The pleated, chiffon skirt is flirty and relaxed.  Add an oversized clutch, and you take the look from casual to chic to create an outfit that is perfect for the weeknight happy hour.

While this look is trendy and sophisticated, it is also insanely comfortable.  The elastic waistband in the skirt means you can wear it no matter how may Girl Scout Cookies you eat.  Also, the light scarf keeps it cozy on rainy days and chic on mild Spring days.

Business casual lesson number two: You can be comfortable and work appropriate if you pair pulled-together basics with cool accessories.

Belle – Is this skirt available in America? I can only find it with shipping to the UK. Which, sadly, is not where I live. A-thank you very much!

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
