Three Ways: Printed Chain Purse

Mar 29, 2011

More often than not, an outfit is built around an item of clothing, not an accessory.  But occasionally, you buy a purse or a pair of shoes or a killer piece of jewelry and you just have to wear it RIGHT NOW.  Here are three outfits that work with the Ivanka Trump Small Flap Bag from this morning.

Thanks to this blouse, I am determined to find a blush top in a price range I can actually afford.  (I’ll post it when I locate one.)  I also love coral for warm weather months, but sometimes, like at the office, it’s best worn as an accessory.  And these flats aren’t perfect, but I wanted a pointy-toe and options were limited.

Years ago, Banana Republic sold a full length coral silk coat and I loved it (sadly, I was a poor Staff Asst. at the time and could not afford it).  I do love the idea of this long, belted cardi coat in a punchy pink with a simple white cotton dress and basic accessories for church or a garden party.  I might even replace the tie with a real belt to add structure and wear it to work.  Also, the dress (adorbs, right?) is $178, firmly in the Staffer, under-$200 price range for a great summer basic.

Bright blazers are really in for spring and summer.  I saw them in this month’s Marie Claire and Glamour and Lucky.  Sadly, they haven’t really trickled down to retail stores, yet.  (Soon, I hope, soon.)  In the meantime, The Outnet has this bold, chartreuse number.  Pair it with a striped top and killer heels for a casual but sophisticated evening look.

    All of these are fantastic!

Sad about the lack of bright blazers in lower price points, but I've noticed them in consignment/thrift stores. Not SUPER modern shapes, but some of them were cute!

It's probably more casual than what you're looking for(made of cotton), but I've seen brightly colored blazers at LL Bean. They have a bright green which I have and love as it's very nice with the red hair, but there's also red and a “wild berry” that is a vivid rose/pink. I could see a brunette looking good in either of those. It's not the most trendy cut, but it does have a very flattering fit.
