Dear Belle,

My husband and I are going to Komi for our anniversary next month, and I want a killer outfit.  I usually wear polos and denim, and I’d like to wear something sexy and different.  I’d love some help choosing the perfect outfit.

If I could quote the great Miss M, when dressing for an important date, remember three words: higher, tighter, brighter.  So I chose a bold color for the blouse in a cut that shows a little skin.  I also chose a snug fitting pencil skirt in royal purple.  And I topped off the look with a pair of gorgeous high heels and matching gold jewelry.

Hi Belle,

I’m 28 and I finally realized that my “tried and true” lean jeans from GAP really aren’t cutting it.  I’m ready to grow up and pay up for some nicer denim.  Where do you think the best selection is?

The best denim selection that I have found in D.C. is at Luna in Bethesda.  They literally have shelves and shelves of denim in every brand and style imaginable.  

If you like the long and lean jeans at GAP, I would try Paige Premium trouser jeans and Seven for All Mankind Dojos. They’re nice enough for casual Fridays at work and sculpted enough for the bar on Saturday night.
