On Tuesday, we talked about the magic of draped skirts. They’re chic and different, and when you wear one, you just feel special. So this weekend when I found a draped dress that wouldn’t put me into the poor house, I just had to share it with all of you.
While the woman in the photo is wearing dress shoes, I would wear the dress more casually than that. I’d wear it with a cognac belt and a pair of boots/booties. And if I were going to wear it out, I would wear nude or grey pumps instead of black.
Contrary to popular belief, black shoes are not the cure for what ails you. They do not go with everything.
All of Gap.com is 25% off today, putting the dress down to $52 🙂
On-line shopping purchase before 9:30am? Check ; ) And thanks EG for the heads up on the discount!
Do you have to be stick thin to wear this dress? I'm not a big girl, but I'm wondering how clingy it is.
I was worried about that too, so I just bought the next size up and my size. The size up fit a little bit nicer, and with a belt, it looked really great. Try both, return the other.
Seriously, Gap should give you a commission on this dress. I'm excited for 7-10 days from now!
Ooh, black shoes don't go with everything? Say more about that!
I think we need a post that is 100% about shoes! <3
Also, I have tried this dress on and I would also recommend getting a size larger if you aren't stick thin, but my problem is it was then too big in the bust area. =(
I had the same problem, but my dry cleaner was able to alter it to fit me.
Maybe it is just because I am pregnant… but I totally thought this was a maternity dress at first! (And was excited to buy it!)
Such a coincidence you posted this because I had just joined Rent the Runway at your suggestion and gotten this dress for an event: https://www.renttherunway.com/shop/designers/christiansiriano_dresses/sapphiresophisticatedress
Also blue, also draped. Wish I had known about the Gap version!
That color is so pretty. Love black but sometimes it's nice to have a fresh alternative.
I don't like wearing skirts or dresses for everyday wear, but this dress is tempting me with its look and price (even more affordable with Gap's 25% off). The only thing I'm worried about is the neck draping part – how revealing is it for someone with a flat chest?
