Gift Guide: Belle's Practical Wish List

Dec 9, 2010

Since this morning’s wish list would best be referred to as unrealistic aspirational, this list has some lovely items that fall into a more reasonable price point.

1.  Tibi Lace Blouse (Net-a-Porter, $230)

This blouse is the kind of piece that can do double duty for work and play.  I would wear this top under my black one-button blazer for work, and with black skinny jeans and a long cardigan for dinner out with friends.

2.  Peggy Sue Dress (Anthropologie, $168)

This dress has a flirty vintage look that will flatter a number of body types.  The fuller skirt will be very forgiving on pear shaped girls, and the structured top will accentuate curves even when there aren’t any naturally.  And since it’s navy, you can wear it now and in the Spring.

3.  Into Midnight Ring (Anthropologie, $58)

I really like this ring.  It’s pretty, chic but with an edginess that is really appealing to me.  This is the kind of piece that you will be complimented on for years to come.

4.  Marc by Marc Jacobs Framed Leather Bag (Net-a-Porter, $360)

II’m not sure how I feel about this bag, but three trusted, fashionable friends have purchased it and swear it’s the greatest bag they’ve ever owned.

The more I look at it, the more I like the pleats and the hardware.  So maybe it’s one of those pieces that grows on you over time.

5.  See by Chloe Cotton Blend Skirt (Outnet, $115)

Last week, I saw a woman in a red skirt and a black and white print top and she looked amazing.  Now, I am desperate for a red skirt.  Luckily, this one is gorgeous and reasonably priced.

So what items are on your holiday wish list?

LOVE that skirt! I just bought a red dress today! Super excited about it.
I totally do that same thing though. I'll see something done right on someone else and not be able to stop thinking about it until I have my own version. 🙂

I always think it’s funny when people send rude or overly personal questions when I put […]

I love stocking stuffers.  They are the best part of Christmas.  There’s just nothing quite like an affordable gift that’s funny or useful or chic (or maybe all three).  So here is Part One of my stocking stuffer gift guides, where nothing costs more than $30.

Add to Cart: Five Recent Amazon Purchases

Since my daughter was born, Amazon has claimed so much of my money that I had to buy stock just to get some of it back.  Between the formula, onesies, fruit pouches, diapers, wipes, and ever evolving list of baby development gear, I could not survive without Prime.   My husband no longer notices the […]
