10th Commandment: August 9

Aug 9, 2010

Recently, I saw a photo of Vanessa Hudgens in a magazine sporting a single metallic-lacquered fingernail on each hand.  While I’m still not sure why this girl is famous, I do love metallic nail polishes, especially with a Summer tan.

Belle, I’ll do you one better for the Unpaid Interns. Try Wet n Wild Color Craze in “Shieild”. Only $1.99.

  2. Dr. Jean Grey says:

I don’t know why, but I can’t stand frosty nails on myself. I can only do cremes. One trend I am going to try over recess is are the “blackberry nails.” Essentially, you paint your hands a shade and go crazy on the thumbs with the glitter. I have an important meeting tomorrow morning, after that I’m going to bling them out and do matching glittler all over my toes.

  3. Stephanie says:

Dr. Jean, Sally Hansen has a color called Diamonds (from the Diamond Strength line) that’s awesome for layering–it’s clear with silvery-white glitter in it. I love to put one coat of that on top of either really dark shades (crimson, violet, etc.) or really pale, nude shades.

  4. Dr. Jean Grey says:

Thanks, Stephanie! I’ll check it out. I have a nice lavendar creme I might pair it with—or maybe coral? Hmm…choices, choices

The Find: An Affordable Work Dress

This winter was particularly hard on my psyche, on my self-esteem, and on my waistline. As we move into spring, I need to make a plan for how I am going to dress this additional weight over the months of work that it will likely take to shed it. So I was so glad to […]
