A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
I have a pair of Anne Klein flats and I would NOT recommend them at all. Albeit their comfort, they are the poorest quality shoe I’ve ever spent fifty dollars on. Today is the fourth time I’ve worn them and the stitching is come un done. As well the top layer of the cloth “smudged” when I stubbed my toe. There’s very little structure actually in the toe so when you’re standing up and shifting weight around your foot aka walking your toes can be seen through the shoe! It’s very strange looking. Finally, it can’t be seen in the picture above but the back of the heel has this weird rubber tread. I’m not sure what it’s used for and it’s about as thick as the sole.
Kelse, I have a pair of Anne Klein flats that I love! Anything distinctive about yours? Mine are iFlex (so they’re really bendy) but the leather on top is substantial, so I can’t see my toes moving around in them. I’m sure it’s a style difference, but I want to make sure these are like mine, not yours.
Ooo, Belle. I wish you could see my shoes today! Light pink ballet flats with patent leather toe and back. I’m wearing it with a black shift. My husband even commented before I left, “Wow, you look cute.” Aw, yeah. That’s the beginning of a good day. I got the shoes from the clearance rack at Pentagon City DSW over the weekend. They’re some random off-brand; were like $25. They’ll get destroyed by fall, I’m sure. But, cute for now!
FYI readers: The AK flats can be found at Shoe Woo at Union Station. Try them on and decide if you like them or not.
I’m glad you highlighted Bloch ballet flats! I love Bloch – I have had several pairs and they always end up being my go-to shoes. Plus you can get some pretty unique and eye catching designs.
