This outfit requires no introduction.

This outfit from Pinterest mixes professional pieces with a bit of whimsy from the shoes and the bow blouse. I think the color palette is great for spring or fall, and with a pair of navy/white trousers or a navy pencil skirt. So let’s remake it.
Jacket // This ponte jacket from Ann Taylor (also in petite) is professional, comfortable and perfect for the office. The buttons are a great accent, but the jacket feels just slightly more modern than a traditional lady jacket. It’s also on sale right now. Want something more casual? Ann Taylor also makes a wonderfully structured navy cardigan with gold buttons.
Shirt // I searched the whole internet, far and wide and could not find a dramatic, horizontal stripe bow blouse. I am bereft. But this Vanessa Bruno shirt is a great option.
Love a bow blouse? This pink bow blouse from ASOS is fabulous. I also love this blue and red stripe from Free People. And if you are looking for a solid, this black or yellow choice from Land’s End.
Jeans // I’m going to suggest something, and I need you to hear me out. Spanx has the best denim right now. I know, I know. There’s a lot of great denim being made, but this is the good stuff. Their cropped wide leg jeans are awesome. I want them in every color.
Shoes // Just buy these discounted block heels from Coach. You will wear them, I promise. I absolutely adore the statement and I think they really add pizzazz to otherwise boring outfits without being too much.
Accessories // The Maison de Sabre leather goods are phenomenal. This briefcase has been on my Nordstrom wish list forever. All of their pieces are so nice.
I know the science isn’t entirely conclusively, but my eyes feel less tired when I wear my blue light glasses. I recently bought these Madison Ave. glasses from Amazon and they are great.
For the jewelry, I chose these teardrop huggies and these cool stacking rings. I don’t usually wear much white metal jewelry, but these pieces are very cool.
Styling // I like the way the hair is done in a low, casual bun. Neutral makeup is nice here. And I would resist the temptation to do a red lip, which make it a little more costume-y than you want.

I love how you dissect a look – it really helps me learn about styling and figure out details I’ve been missing.
What do you put in the search bar when you look on Pinterest?
Hi Abra, FYI the woman in the photo is Elodieromy on insta – i know you like to give credit and she’s also a great follow.
How are Spanx jeans on a post-partum body? I’m still squishy and not sure of my size but ready to be done with maternity clothes.
I needed to try two sizes to find the one that was the most comfortable, but they’re supportive.
I love this outfit- thanks for breaking it down! I think that the bow might be a scarf? It is perfect either way!
