The Crowdstrike/Microsoft Meltdown forced me to take a few days off this weekend. No laptop. No billable hours. So we packed Sloane up for a visit to a local llama farm, stopped by the pool, went for coffee, etc. Few things are as funny as watching a 23-month old feed carrots to a ravenous rescue llama. And after Sloane fell asleep, I took some time to window shop the web.
La Ligne’s collaboration with the Away suitcase brand has been living rent free in my head for weeks. I love the punchy orange on this color blocked suitcase. If I needed new luggage, this is exactly what I would be buying.
Luckily, this collab also features several clothing pieces from La Ligne. The Aperol Spritz orange on this striped sweater (also in plus) is phenomenal.
While I reimagine my closet for my new WFH situation, I’m thinking more about tops. I have a good selection of dresses and pants, but my tops cupboard feels a bit bare. The silky blouses I used to buy don’t feel quite right for my home office, but this cotton, printed top from Pilcro feels like it hits all the right notes. I like the short sleeves for summer or to be layered up in the fall. Plus, the muted color palette works in many seasons. Other shirts in this category include this yoke blouse from Ann Taylor in crisp white or moody plum.
The 100 Best Books list from NYT (gift link) has appeared everywhere over the past two weeks. I am a bit sheepish about how few of these books I have read. Personally, I preferred reading the picks of celebrities and famous authors. It appears that R.L. Stine, James Patterson, Elin Hildebrand, and I seem to like a lot of the same books.
This Carve designs crushable hat is everywhere this summer. On the chic woman on my SLC flight (clearly bound for Park City). In D.C. on an impossibly well-dressed woman in my hotel. And literally everywhere I went in Bozeman, the Montana home of those with inherited wealth. Regardless of who’s wearing it, it’s a great thing to keep the sun off of your face. So when I finally spotted it on a friend of mine (who bought it in Jackson, the Wyoming home of those with inherited wealth), I finally was able to ask who makes it. All snark aside, it’s a nice bridge between a baseball cap and a straw beach hat.
Pinterest must know that I’m tired because it keeps feeding me this Adrenal Cocktail. Does it regulate hormones and boost energy? Who knows. But given the ingredients — Vitamin C, potassium, and salt — it can’t hurt. I just think of it as homemade Gatorade.

Instagram has been constantly advertising the flat claw hair clips from Teleties to me, and I’m this close to caving… wonder if anyone has tried them yet?
I love Teleties. I have the open one, and it really does give better hold than other clips.
I’ve read 24 of that NYT list and actually liked… Maybe 3? There were only 6 that I was even interested in picking up. I think what people call the “best” books tend to be heavy, unhappy commentaries on the real world, and I don’t think there’s any shame reading mostly for fun or escapism.
