Monday Outfit: A Look for In and Out of the House

May 17, 2021

As we emerge from isolation, most of us aren’t ready to give up our soft clothes just yet.  We got comfortable during our time working from home.  (Some of us maybe a little too comfortable.)  And we’re not ready to be uncomfortable just yet.

I spotted this outfit in a Facebook advertisement, and I thought it was nice choice for something you could wear work from home but also wear to lunch or coffee.  The mix of the soft blouse and the camo joggers is kind of a fun combination.  Here’s how to recreate it.

Shirt // This gauzy blouse from Lucky Brand is perfect for summer.  I adore the appliqué on the sleeves.  This Ramy Brook top with an embellished balloon sleeve is also worth a look.  For a shorter sleeve, try this Chico’s top.  Plus-size?  This Levi’s top is worth a look.

Pants // For the bottoms, I went with these darker Vuori leggings because I already own them.  But for summer, the green camo might read a bit lighter.  Old Navy has a great pair of green camo joggers (also in petite and tall).

Not feeling camo?  Try a pair of olive green joggers for a similar look.  Plus-size?  Try this twill joggers from Denim and Co..

Bag // Tote bags have really fallen out of stock during the pandemic.  I still love this structured Cuyana bag.  It’s a great basic, and the perfect graduation gift.  Prefer a crossbody?  This Sienna bag has a simple shape and sophisticated details.

Sandals // If you can’t find a pair of sandals for summer, try Soludos.  They make chic, classic styles that wear very well.  Their Shea interlocking style is one of their most popular.  Have weddings this summer?  Try their block heel Inez style.

Accessories // Layering necklaces is easy when you have two fabulous pendants like these.  The first, a simple lightning bolt comes to us from Wolf & Badger.  And the second, the real star of the show, is the hidden heart pendant from Jenny Bird.  If you haven’t checked out the Jenny Bird line, I highly recommend it.  They’re the kind of understated pieces that anyone can wear.

Lastly, if you’re hunting for blue-light glasses, The Book Club has the best styles.  Their smoky tea-colored Harlot style is fabulous. I wear their clear 12 Hungry Bens style constantly.
