Friend gifts are the best. Boyfriend gifts, parent gifts, etc. can be stressful to buy, but friend gifts are just fun. You can pick something sentimental, something useful, something humorous, they’re my favorite gifts to buy. The only thing better is meeting up for fun drinks or coffee to exchange your holiday wares. Here are some chic holiday gifts for under-$50.
I put this Kiehl’s FAILE Gift Set ($45) first for two reasons: 1) I have a cult-like obsession with Creme de Corps lotion, so a travel-size bottle is a dream come true; and 2) 100% of the proceeds from this gift go to Feeding America.
For the wine lover in your life, how about a wine saving carafe? The Savino Tritan Carafe ($24) keeps wine fresh for up to a week. It’s perfect for the woman who wants a single glass, but doesn’t want to waste the bottle. Or if you need a gag gift, the wine bottle-sized glass was a hit for my friend’s birthday.
You’re probably thinking, “Belle, slippers? What a terrible gift.” But nay-nay, I say, nay-nay. These Land’s End slippers ($39) are soft, warm, and have sturdy bottoms so they can be worn to get the mail, walk the dog, or take out the trash.
If there was one book that I would recommend every woman read, it’s Joan Didion’s Slouching Towards Bethlehem ($14). For me, meaningful books make great gifts. Sure, it’s fun to give cookbooks (Cravings is a favorite) and style books (The Lucky Style Guide is awesome), but giving a book that is meaningful to you is even better. If you don’t have a book like that, then choose a book you’ve always wanted to read, and read it at the same time. It’s like a mini-book club.
I bought these Celestial Pins from WHBM ($35) for myself, and I adore them. They look great on the lapel of my winter coat. They would also be a lovely option on the shoulder of your LBD, or even pinned to a clutch.
The Sugarfina Yes Way Rose Box ($20) is the perfect gift for the rose wine lover in your life. The gummies have the lightest hint of wine flavor, and are utterly delightful. If gummies aren’t her thing, Nordstrom has a lot of great chocolates online and in-store. My favorite is the milk chocolate pecan toffee.
The second I saw this Montana-themed travel mug at Starbucks ($22), I had to have it. It’s part of their local collection, which features most major cities and states, and, of course, Washington, D.C.. They have some really beautiful tumblers and travel cups right now. If you’re not locally inclined, this Siren Song Tumbler ($17) has a really beautiful color scheme.
I leave jewelry everywhere, so you could give me ten trinket dishes, and I would still need more. This You’re a Gem Dish ($18) is a chic option. I also like this fun cat-shaped bowl and this elephant dish, both from Anthropologie. If you prefer handmade gifts, this turquoise and gold dish from Etsy caught my eye.
