1) The 7 Habits of People Who Leave the Office at 5:00 PM, Guilt Free. (Fast Company)

2) I love Self-Portraits airy, lacy dresses (but they are so $$$).  Luckily, ASOS made this occasion lace midi-dress for much less. (Also in petite.)

3) Having trouble staying on task?  Here are some tips on staying focused. (Hitha on the Go)

4) Halogen is one of my favorite places for affordable work clothes.  I love this belted turtleneck poncho for $71. This shirred-side dress ($41) is great for casual dinner. And this open-front blazer (in five colors) is not to be missed.  They also offer plus-size and petite lines.

5) The blog Young House Love burned bright and then, burned out.  A discussion about branding, social media, and when living to blog gets ugly. (The Cut)

6) Toothpaste Tube Squeezer: One of those little purchases that you wonder how you ever lived without.

7) How to end small talk and drill down on a person’s deepest thoughts. (The New York Times)

8) This Barney’s New York small, red briefcase is fab.  This slim briefcase from Mango is a great buy.

9) The 5 Things You Should Always Bring to Job Interviews. Can I also add hand sanitizer and breath mints? (Corporette)

10) Gap is stocking their spring outerwear.  Their classic trenches are always worth a look (in tall and petite).  And if you need a raincoat, this navy, essential raincoat with a striped liner is perfect.

11) Why do people keep coming to this Atlanta couple’s home looking for their lost cell phones? (Fusion)

12) If I could have only one eye shadow palette for the rest of my life, this Lancome Audacity in Paris palette with all the colors of the sunset is the one.

  1. I love the Audacity palette! It was my first luxury make up purchase and I couldn’t be more pleased!

I love the “no small talk” NYT article–thank you for sharing. It reminds me a bit of this one: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/11/fashion/no-37-big-wedding-or-small.html Big questions are always more interesting.

  3. Thank you so much for sharing my post! xo

  4. Jenn S. says:

The Lancome Audacity palette is so gorgeous. Lisa Eldridge did a great job with it; she’s a fantastic artist. I really enjoy her channel on YouTube, she’s very easy to watch and listen to, a pleasant contrast from the younger crowd of, “beauty gurus,” where everything is, “on fleek,” or whatever.

I also loved the small talk article. I’m definitely one of those people who is like, “If we’re going to talk about the flavor of precipitation du jour, can we just not?” It’s nice to hear how someone approaches that, and I wonder how it translates to things other than dating, for him.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
