1. Modcloth Wrap Party Dress ($50) // 2. LoveQuotes Tassel Scarf ($88) // 3. Long Circle Link Necklace ($38) // 4. H&M Tote ($35) // 5. Renegade Cluster Bracelet ($49), Christina Link Bracelet ($49) and Marc Jacobs Bolt Cuff ($93) // 6. BP Moveover Flat ($49) // 7. Tory Burch Cat Eye ($149)

Today’s outfit comes from the archives of Blair Eadie’s blog, Atlantic-Pacific.  The original features a wrap maxi-dress from DvF, but since an ivory scarf is a year-round staple for me, I decided to shorten the length.  Here’s how to recreate it.

One. A blue and white patterned wrap dress can be used as the foundation for many summery color combinations.  Sizes for sale in this dress are limited, but I’ve found a few similar dresses.  BCBG’s Adele dress has a fun, modern print.  I also found two short-sleeve dresses from Karen Kane, one in a dark blue print, one in a mixed-blue paisley.  And don’t miss this discounted Laundry dress in a blue wave print.

Plus-size? Try this Modcloth ‘All the Angles’ dress.  Petite? Try this Pendleton Breezeway dress.

Two. LoveQuotes is my favorite brand of scarf for voluminous scarves in a multitude of colors.  I also love this Pom Travel Scarf from Terrain with similar fringe to the scarf in the photo.  For $50, I think I need that scarf.

Three. A long chain is a great way to accessorize a wrap dress.  This long chain from Nordstrom is a great choice.  It’s a basic with style.

Four. This simple tote is a great bag for the weekends or for work.  I’m not sure how the quality is on this H&M tote, but I own this Banana Republic Ashbury tote and it’s well-made.

Five. This stack of bracelets is a great mix of materials, textures and sizes.  If you’re concerned about the metal tone wearing off of your jewelry, the Stella & Dot pieces seem to hold up better than most brands.

Six. How many times can I promote the BP Moveover flats? They really are a great shoe that comes in a great selection of colors and textures.  If you’re not crazy about the red, you could easily choose orange or coral flats.  If you prefer softer tones, try these mint green ones from Ivanka Trump.

Seven. Cat-eye sunglasses don’t look good on everyone, but when they look good, they look fresh and stylish.  Not a fan?  Try these basic Ray-Ban Wayfarers or some oversize tortoise sunnies.

In regards to the tote from H&M: I bought this tote when I was in college. I needed a professional looking tote on a college-student budget. This tote is amazing. I still have it (one year out of college) and it looks as good as the day I bought it (I have the black one). I use it for meetings, daily commute, a carry on bag while flying, etc. This tote truly is my go-to and I would 100% suggest it to anyone. When I purchased it, the price was $25 and they only had black. Now that I know it comes in brown also, and is $10 more, I am definitely going to purchase the brown also.

I ordered that ModCloth dress a few weeks back and retired it because the ivory portion of the print was wildly sheer, as well as it being quite short on me for work (and I’m only 5’5″).

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
