Raise your hand if you’ve purchased a juicer or smoothie maker in the past year?  Oh, good, I knew I wasn’t the only one.

I spotted this recipe for Carrot Lemonade on Pinterest, and I thought it was such an interesting combination.  The sweetness and richness of the carrot with the brightness of the lemon is really marvelous.  And while it has more sugar than many of the juices I make, I think it’s a great alternative to traditional lemonade that isn’t short on sugar.

The recipe comes from Jennifer Chong and was featured in Better Homes and Gardens.

Caslon T-Shirt Dress ($32)

My usual at-home wardrobe includes leggings and a tunic top.  The trouble is that the DC weather is too hot to be wearing pants for most of the summer months.  So I’ve switched to t-shirt dresses.

This Caslon is easy and slouchy and comfortable, and the print is great for summer.  I also like this basic Velvet dress and this drawstring waist Ann Taylor dress.  Gilt also had a couple of good under-$60 options like this striped linen dress and this black dress with a cowl neck.  But the dress that really caught my eye was this Three Dots Ballet Neck dress.

Petite: Try this Land’s End dress with a half-sleeve. Plus-size:  This Modcloth dress has a nice side sweep detail.

Happy Hour

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
