One. I love the mix of colors in the scarf. With teal and eggplant, mauve and navy, it’s really a lovely accessory. This Club Monaco animal print scarf is very similar, at $69, and this Aztec-print scarf has similar colors for $34.
Two. I’ve been searching for a metal-plaque belt to add to my wardrobe for some time now. I think it would add a lot interest and some structure to my wardrobe full of sheath dresses. Topshop has a cheaper option in tan and black, and if you’re plus-size, ASOS has a cute belt for sale.
Three. Of course, once I restocked my supply of black pencil skirts, it’s time for the warm weather. So I’m trying to find a navy skirt for the warmer weather months, and I love the ruffled, back-detail on this skirt. I’m also curious how the quality is on this $30 Ellen Tracy skirt that seems to come in every color imaginable.
Four. The words ‘gold lame’ conjure thoughts of 70s discos and Earth, Wind and Fire. However, this Mulberry blouse is a modern, feminine and expensive take on the shimmering fabric. If you’re looking for a less expensive gold top, I found this long-sleeved tee and this racerback top.
Prefer to wear your gold shimmer on your eyelids? Trish McEvoy has you covered.
Five. Ivory chiffon with a flirty skirt and a hint of gold sequins? Yes, please. I also found this sequin halter dress, and this Dorothy Perkins dress with just a hint of sparkle. Love the shape but not the sequins? Try this lace skater dress.
Six. I.am.obsessed.with.these.pumps. They are the perfect combination of classic, sexy and cool. I love the taupe color with a hint of blush. And if they weren’t a week’s pay, I would buy them right.this.second. These Calvin Klein shoes are very similar, and these Steve Madden pumps are also a good substitute.
Seven. How major is this ring? I think it’s been on the blog at least once before, and I am still smitten with it. It such a unique, versatile piece. If you like the white agate look, but want something cheaper, this Kenneth Jay Lane bracelet is gorgeous and these rough-textured earrings are incredible.
Eight. I’m on the hunt for a new wallet, and I spotted this tasselled clutch wallet, which is more clutch than wallet. I also like this multi-tassel clutch and this convertible clutch, both under-$40.
Nine. If you’re looking for a hint of rosy-pink without going overboard, this mauve lipstick is just the ticket. Need a drugstore brand? Try this Maybelline lipstick in Till Mauve. Prefer a gloss? Try Mauve-a-lous.
Love the pumps. A refreshing to the alternative nude-for-me heels that I am guilty of wearing far too often in warm weather.
Belle,
Did you get your Coach Trench yet? Thoughts? I am also in need of a replacement and, depending on your review, am thinking of purchasing the short Coach.
I did, and I don’t think I’m going to keep it. Two reasons why: 1) the lapels are meant to be buttoned down, and I usually wear my trench unbuttoned, so they look weird and 2) the material is a heavier canvas than I am looking for and it is only partially lined.
So I took your earlier advice and bought a Reiss pencil skirt. I’m wearing it now for the first time and it is tremendous– best skirt I’ve ever owned. It doesn’t ride up, it is fitted without looking skanky, the length is perfect. Can’t say enough about it, which is saying a lot for a plain black skirt.
I need a bigger size to accommodate my expanding rear end, but liked the one I got, so I’m looking forward to it.
