For Winter Casual Days.  When it gets cold and wet like it was earlier this week, I just want to be comfortable.  I want to wrap myself in a wool sweater, a pair of loose-fitting jeans and some comfortable shoes.  But that doesn’t mean that you can’t be comfortable and stylish.

For this outfit, I layered a belted cardigan over a simple white tee and boyfriend fit jeans.  Instead of using the limp, lifeless belt provided, I would use the stretchy, leather belt.  I just love grey and camel or grey and cognac together.

Add in a pair of rose gold sequin sneakers and rose gold jewelry to soften the look.  I love the hammered nail ring.  The bad carries some of the colors from the belt and shoes, but also ties in to the grey in the sweater.

For the hair, I would suggest a high, teased ponytail.  For the makeup, a light tinted moisturizer, a cheek stain, mascara and some lip balm.

For Spring Workdays. I don’t know about you, but I am ready to start thinking about spring.  I’m over the winter blahs and it’s not even February.

Here, I belted a vibrant blue dress with short sleeves to define the waist.  I also added a turquoise chain necklace to play with the color palette.  You can skip the necklace if you’re a minimalist, but add a colored stone earring, instead.

A basic neutral pump in patent leather will be your best friend this spring/summer.  Also, how great is this tan leather bad with the metal corners?  That’s a lot of style for under-$200.

For the hair, I would say a loose updo or half up-half down with a loose wave.  For the makeup, a pink cheek, some illuminating highlighter on the cheekbones and light bronzer.  Emphasis on the light.

Love that dress, especially the sleeve length. Perfect for work.

Belle, love this dress you posted, I wanted to get your opinion… What is the “right” length of sleeve on a work dress that's short sleeved, as in what do you think is the most universally flattering? Thanks – Mary Beth

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
