March Madness Reigns Supreme

Mar 12, 2012

Going to college at a school that had no football team was difficult for me.  I’d never watched basketball before.  I knew precious little about the game, but since all of my classmates were crazy for March Madness, I dove into the pool head first.  Now, I am completely obsessed.

I buy the deluxe subscription to ESPN. I watch the selection show, and the pre-show, and the post-show.  I’m in a half dozen pools, and if my team is playing anywhere near me, I’m on my way to the game. How this happened, I do not know.

Last year, I decided to follow the lead of fellow blogger and basketball school alum, Cassandra LaValle, and create my own pool for the readers of Capitol Hill Style.  And given what a success that was, I’ve decided to do it again this year.  Here are the particulars:

Join Yahoo! and submit your bracket to the Capitol Hill Style pool.  The pool is by invitation only, so you can only connect to it through the link.  The password is fashion. Then, make sure to complete your picks by 12pm on Thursday, March 15th.  And what would a contest be without prizes?

First place receives a six-month subscription to Birchox.  Second place receives a three-month subscription to Birchbox.  (If you already have a subscription, you’ll get a gift card to their online store of equal value.)  And third place will receive a subscription to either Elle, Lucky, Real Simple or Glamour.

So what are you waiting for? Get over to Yahoo! and start filling out your bracket.

P.S. If you haven’t entered the J.Crew Bangle giveaway yet, today is your last chance.  So don’t miss out!

Hi Belle! I'm an avid reader of your blog, but not an avid commenter (is that word??) usually. I just wanted to let you know that I was so excited when I saw you have a bracket pool going here! I had been hoping to find one other than my office pool to join. I'm not a huge fan of NCAA usually, but when March Madness comes around…well I get a tad bit overly excited. Thanks so much for setting this up! Love your blog and keep up the great work!

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
