Polyvore Set Here.

For Sunday Brunch. A crisp white dress is perfect for church, brunch and other weekend events.  It’s a feminine, warm weather alternative to the winter sweaterdress.

Here, I added a simple metallic sandal.  I just bought these and they are really dainty and cute.  I’m hoping they hold up better than their sub-$50 price tag would indicate. I also threw in a wood bangle with metallic accents.  I like the earthiness of the wood with the ethereal quality of the dress.

I adore this straw hobo from J.Crew.  To jazz up the outfit and add a bit of color, I would toss in a patterned silk scarf like the one above.  You can tie it to the handle of the bag, around your neck, around your ponytail or wear it like a necklace.

For the hair, I would choose something bouncy and light to complement the dress, either curls or a ponytail.  And the makeup should be equally girly with a coral cheek and a gold, shimmery shadow.  I’d also add a pinky gloss to my lips.

For the Symphony.  I thought it would be nice to do an all-white look since that’s trending this season.  This look would also be great for a bride at a rehearsal dinner or shower, but I like it for the symphony or the opera as well.  It falls in the gap between cocktail and casual, more of a semi-formal look.

I love, LOVE, this laser-cut clutch.  It is so cool and different.  I also like the slightly rocker-chic sandal with the flirty dress.  It adds just the right note amount of toughness when playing with the girlier pieces.

The jewelry also plays on the all-white theme with a flower-themed necklace and pearl studs.  I adore necklaces tied on big, flouncy ribbons.  Maybe I should convince a friend to drive me to a craft store so I can try to DIY one or two myself?

For the hair, I would go with a light, curly updo or long beachy waves.  I just think curls play nicer with white, girly dresses.  For the makeup, I’d do it up a bit since the rest of the outfit is so stark.  A colored lip (red or brighter pink, but not neon) and a pop of pink blush.  Also, don’t scrimp on the eyeliner and mascara, and don’t forget to fill in those brows.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
