For the Office. Let’s face it, this outfit is all about the shoes. I’m wearing them right now, in fact, and I just wanted a reason to show them again, especially now that they are on sale. Ona comfort scale of 1-10, they are a 7.8. Pretty good for a 4″ heel.
When I wear a dress in a simple shape, I don’t want to add too much to it. I want to alter it until it fits like a glove and then, keep it simple. So I chose a belt without a buckle, in patent leather to coordinate with the shoes, and simple black and gold baubles. I also added some seriously vintage sunnies for a funky Audrey Hepburn thing.
For the hair, I’d wear it in a twist or a teased half-up/half-down. For the makeup, I’d wear sheer red lip and a light application of your most flattering blush. And I would definitely wear eyeliner and mascara, lots of eyeliner and mascara.
For Casual Friday. Yes, it’s too hot for a cardigan in D.C. right now. But it’s snowing in some places out West. SNOWING. So here’s some love for my Rocky Mountain readers currently shoveling white stuff from their sidewalks. Everyone else, keep the blouse, skip the cardi, add a belt.
For me, this outfit is all about the printed blouse and the coordinating hot pink earrings. The print is modern, not garish and with the skinny ankle pants, it looks very stylish. I also love the tiny rings, I’m hoping to stock up on a few while I’m shopping this weekend. I just love wearing lots of little rings.
With or without the cardigan, I think the best hairstyle for this outfit is a wavy updo twisted back into a bun. I’d wear a pink blush, grey shadow and a rose-colored lip gloss. I’d also paint my nails a medium pink.
I suppose the Ann Taylor dress may be long enough if you don't have long model-legs?
I really like this bag and I am so glad I popped in to catch up a bit on the blog…I have been looking to replace my go-to black bag for way too long and my tan/neutral bags never seem to go with everything. This seems like the perfect solution 🙂
Lovely. And I for one appreciate the cardigan– offices in DC are freezing!!!
I love the black dress-I have been searching high and low for a great wear-to-work black dress and they are surprisingly hard to find! I wish I could afford this one, but at the very least it's good to know the dress I want exists, somewhere.
M-You would think it would be easy to find an inexpensive black dress, but it is surprisingly tough, online and in real life. I found mine at a consignment shop. But this Ann Taylor is much less and pretty close.

The Ann Taylor dress looks awfully short…
