The Birds and The Bees

Feb 16, 2010

I’ve been hunting for a little pendant necklace for what feels like forever.  Recently, my search led me to an Etsy store called birdzNbeez.  This little jewelry maker takes adorable to a whole new level with a line of sweet and affordable pieces that are perfect for the girly girl in all of us.

This piece is called the Prop Locket because of it’s propeller design.  Like a number of her creations, this one is Steampunk inspired.  A sub-genre of science fiction, Steampunk creations often have visible mechanics such as gears and levers.  The tiny gears on this locket are so delicate that they make industrial look pretty.

Many of the other pieces feature the same delicate designs.  Some of her necklaces even have tiny sparrows embedded in the chain to add a little extra whimsy.  And after years of searching, I treated myself to a little brass compass necklace with sparrow detail.

But is it really treating yourself if the necklace is just $19?  All of the pieces at birzNbeez are imminently affordable making them suitable for a Hill budget.

If you only take the time to master one beauty product, those intended for your lips is where you can’t go wrong. Lipstick is the most basic of all makeup products for the lip. Sometimes slightly waxy in texture, it adds color and definition to your smile.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
