BPGP: Phytocitrus Shampoo and Conditioner

Jun 21, 2011

Caring for color-treated hair is essential.  You don’t want to spend several hundred dollars per year on hair color and then watch it get washed, dried and damaged away.  I usually use Kerastase, however, I recently read an article arguing that the Chroma-Riche and Chroma-Reflect lines are too heavy for fine hair, like mine.  So I started looking for something that would protect my dye job without weighing down my tresses.

Phytocitrus is great for dry, damaged hair. It’s light, but restores moisture and shine to the hair. I used it for a week, and I couldn’t believe how fresh my color looked.  And shine?  I’ve never gotten shine like this from a shampoo and conditioner.

Also, the smell is incredible.  It has a sweet, orange scent that is perfect for those morning when you’re having trouble waking up.  So if you’re looking for a new shampoo and don’t mind spending a little money to protect your hair color (see it as an investment or you might as well go natural), give Phytocitrus a try.

I’ve also been mixing the Phytomist hydrating spray with my dry shampoo.  Dry shampoo on the roots, hydrating spray on the ends.  It keeps the ends from getting damaged by all the heat I put on my hair when I decide to skip a day of washing my hair.

I have not had great experiences with dry shampoo. I tried Tresemme's dry shampoo and when I use it, it just feels like hairspray (and doesn't do much to get the oils off my head, either). I have a lot of hair, so maybe that's why–not particularly coarse or fine, just normal, but a lot of it. Do you have a recommendation for a dry shampoo you like?

I LOVE Pssst. No seriously, it's called Psssst. It's on the bottom shelf, red, white and blue can. Hated the Tresemme, felt sticky. Ick.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
