They say that ambition is an unattractive trait in a woman. Maybe. But you know what’s really unattractive? Waiting around for something to happen, staring out a window thinking the life you should be living is out there somewhere but not being willing to open the door and go get it, even if someone tells you you can’t. // Miriam Maisel

Are you traveling this summer?  Then you are made of stronger stuff than I am.  My Instagram is filled with enough photos of Italy, Spain and Charleston to make me think most of the influencers have relocated permanently.  But I will be saving my money and my sanity by staying closet to home.

If you are headed out, flight attendants would like you to abide by these 12 etiquette rules.  The New York Times would also like to offer you some tips to avoid common travel issues like lost luggage and long lines.  And the Inquirer has some thoughts on how to cut costs during a pricey travel season.

Oh damn, that “doing nothing at work” article is my life. I average 8 hours of work a week and exceed my targets.

  2. Kim says:

When my kids were in diapers, I learned to make an airplane specific diaper change kits (I did 2 kits/4 hour flight). In a gallon zip bag you put: a diaper and a quart size zip bag that has a complete change of clothes for the baby. When you need to change a diaper, you grab your wipes and one of the bags and you have everything you need without having to lug your diaper bag into the lavatory. Any soiled clothes can then go into the gallon bag so they stay contained. My kids are out of diapers now, but I still pack their emergency outfits like this in case they spill something and I need to contain soda-filled clothes.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
