Saw It On Social: Versine (Pregnancy-Safe) Serum

May 2, 2022

Recently, Ole Henriksen discontinued my favorite serum, and I replaced it with another serum that was not pregnancy safe.  Given that pregnancy often causes an increase in acne, after a few months, I was getting desperate.  So when Instagram fed me ads for Versine serums, clean serums that are safe for pregnancy, I bought it instantly.

I’m not going to hide the ball here, I love Versine’s Gentle Actives Clarity Creme.

The Versine serums contain hyaluronic acid, squalene, azeliac acid, vitamin-c and other clean ingredients.  The serums are designed to tackle fine lines, dark spots, and acne.  Their also cruelty free, vegan, and made in the USA.

As for my results, I started using it on a Sunday, and my acne was clear by the following Saturday.  After weeks of struggling to keep the cystic acne that showed up in my second trimester under control, to have it vanish was incredible.  (They also make a serum for sensitive skin.)

When you use serums to combat acne, you usually sacrifice brightness.  Not with Versine serum.  My skin has never looked brighter and the tone is improving every week.

I haven’t been this excited for a product since the Night Is Young (may it rest in peace).  The fact that it’s a clean beauty, pregnancy-safe option that works as well or better than anything I’ve tried is really fantastic.  And while the serum is $80 a bottle, which is not cheap by any metric, it takes such a small amount, I anticipate the first bottle will last for 3-4 months.

Whether you’re pregnant or just looking for a clean beauty serum that can treat acne and wrinkles, the Versine serum is worth your money and your time.  I was feeling a bit depressed watching my skin revert back to painful breakouts due to pregnancy, and this serum just gave my skin a boost.

I’m not pregnant but I’ve had really good luck with azelaic acid over the years, its worked wonders on my hormonal acne in a number of products including as part of a curology formula. I also had that same experience of my skin clearing up very quickly it was really impressive.

I became a loyal Night Is Young user after you wrote about it several years ago. When they discontinued it (I’m not totally sure what happened there but it was a sad day), there website recommended a few other serums including True Botanicals pure radiance oil – it’s wonderful, clean, pregnancy safe and I absolutely love it.

The Find: A Versatile Sweater Jacket

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.
