“Adapt or perish, now as ever, is nature’s inexorable imperative.” — H. G. Wells

Brevity. GM has a two-word dress code, and it’s brilliant.

Dangled. How fun and modern are these pearl drop-earrings from LOFT?

Authenticity. Where is the line between honesty and privacy when you’re trying to live a ‘real’ life online.

Planted. This colorful succulent would look great in a little planter on your desk.

Fortuity. Career mentoring isn’t enough if you’re not getting the advice that you need.

Shouldered. J.Crew’s leopard saddle bag and Harper satchel (in a gorgeous berry) are perfect for fall.

Frugality. How I (Mostly) Stopped Blowing My Budget on Weekends.

Traveled. Upcoming trip? Pick up a travel-size of your favorite hair products at Ulta.

Insensitivity. Yelling at work isn’t passionate, it’s abusive.

Discounted. The Outnet New Arrivals are always worth a look. I love this Milly dress.

Anxiety. How many products do we need to buy to achieve mental calm?

Oh, that cubicle life.  I remember it well.  Mostly I remember the dark walnut laminate that surrounded me at all times.  House Beautiful has a list of tips so you can decorate and personalize your cubicle without going too far.

I remove my rings when I work, so I like to keep a trinket dish nearby.  I also like a nice framed print.  And a stand-up desk calendar.

For a really professional office, I would keep the colors to a minimum and go with abstract art or simple landscapes.  A few little touches can personalize a space without it looking like a teenager’s bedroom.

Good articles! I enjoyed the article about spending less on the weekend. While I usually find that those type articles are actually not helpful or realistic, I felt that this one was. Thanks for sharing.

You mean you’re not prepared to sit at home, eating ramen, and watching the netflix you share with others to get to Monday with no spending… 😉

  2. Megan says:

Spending a few extra minutes finding a desktop background that I really loved was a great low-cost way to make my desk space feel like mine. It’s a photo of one of my favorite places, and I get to take a mental vacation every time I minimize applications.
