Purse: Zara Mini City Bag ($79)

From Left, Earrings: Marc Jacobs Mini Pinwheel ($48) Belt: Maxstudio Belt ($98) Shoes: Edelman Camdyn Pumps ($67) Sweater: Ted Baker Printed Sweater ($165) Dress: Jones New York Sheath ($79)

From Right, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Aviators ($150) Earrings: Kenneth Cole Hoop Earrings ($24) Necklace: KJL Turquoise Drop ($77) Shoes: Nine West Villea Sandal ($57) Top: Mango Crepe Blouse ($50) Pants: Andie Chino Pant ($70)

For the Office. It’s almost summer, so why not bring the color?  For this outfit, I mixed a dark pink dress with a printed sweater and a bright orange purse.  This look would also work with a navy dress and navy print cardi if you want something more subtle.

Since the outfit has so much color, you need to keep the accessories neutral.  A “nude” pump, a tan belt and a pair of floral studs that pair with the print in the cardigan.  I also like the idea of this look with an open-toe shoe like these uber-comfortable Michael Kors Flex Pumps.

Plus-size? Reverse the pairing with a printed blue-aqua dress and a coordinating cardigan.  Petite? Try this Ralph Lauren pink dress.

For the hair, I would wear it down and styled as you choose.  For the makeup, I would keep it more neutral and subdued since the outfit is so bold.  A simple lip gloss like this one from Trish McEvoy.

For Casual Friday.  Mixing different shades of neutrals is a classic look that’s great for any occasion.  It’s difficult to tell from the photo, but this blouse is actually a pale stone color.  I love the look of the two pieces together.

If you’d like something similar but are afraid of being washed out, try these dark grey J.Crew chinos and a pale grey top.  That will pair well with the turquoise and orange accents.  Though you will need a different sandal, this pale tan and metallic is a good choice.

Like chinos?  Petites, misses and tall ladies can find great things at J.Crew.  And all sizes can find chinos at Land’s End.

The accessories are a great mix of gold and turquoise.  I chose these rectangular hoops for something more modern.  And what would a summer outfit be without sunglasses?  My favorite forever, Ray-Ban Aviators.

I chose a sandal with a slight lift, which helps when wearing an ankle length pant.  You can also go with a flat sandal like this Steve Madden Huarache-style.

For the hair, wear it however feels comfortable to you.  In the summer, I’m all about an updo, but a bouncy wave could be nice.  For the makeup, the opposite of above, you need color to balance the neutrals.  I’d pick up a coral lip color and a subtle pink cheek like Benefit Dandelion.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
