Dear Belle,
Thank you for having your “under $100” week. Bloggers who write about Prada and Louis gall me. Who can afford that?
I’m interning this spring, and I wanted to know if you’d consider having a “under $50” week. I still love fashion even when my budget has me eating Lean Cuisine every day.
Marissa
Ask and you shall receive. Welcome to Under-$50 Week.
BP Moveover Pointed Toe Flat ($49)
The Moveover flat is one of the best things to come out of the Nordstrom shoe department in a long time. The shoe is comfortable, stylish and work appropriate. Last fall, they made the shoe in beige and black. For the spring, they brought back those shades and added lipstick red and royal blue.
They also make a non-patent leather flat in a rich cognac shade, a soft gold metallic and a leopard calf-hair.
Prefer a round-toe? Try these Steve Madden Heaven patent leather flats for ($39) or this Nine West Razzie flat for ($35).
I’m no intern, but I’m all about under-$50 week. Thanks Belle!
so excited for under 50 week! yes!
Love this idea! Also, those shoes are perfect!

YES! Just because I can afford it, doesn’t mean I want to spend a lot on clothes, especially on trendier items I’m not going to get a ton of wear out of. And I love a surprising value!
Hooray! Aspirational blogs are fun to look at, but I come here for practical advice. Also, for Marissa (who wrote the letter), you can also try homemade hummus (super easy and cheap) with veggies, and there are a hundred ways to cook an egg. Just in case you are looking for a change of pace from the Lean Cuisine! 🙂
I’d also point out that there are some great happy hours with food specials in DC (I think there’s an app that will tell you what’s nearby). I love clothes as much as the next gal (maybe more) but you shouldn’t forget to focus on the experience of being here and getting to know people. There are more ways to get out on a dime in this city than many others so take advantage of being here!
I have the BP Move Over flats in leopard. I love them, but they have zilch for support. I fixed that with some inserts.
What kind of inserts did you use? I never know what would work with flats.
I like the Dr. Scholl’s for her line.
I have these flats in leopard and black and I love them. The thing I love most about them is that you don’t have to break them in – and they’ve never given me a blister or rubbed the wrong way once! Obviously they don’t have support or anything like that, this is no walking shoe but for day-to-day these flats are perfect, I pretty much wear them everyday! Also I’m all about under $50 – week.
ooo under $50 week? Exciting!!
yes. yes. yes! thank you. more under $50 items please!
I have those flats in nude and I love them! I am a teacher and am on my feet all day, and they are so comfortable.
The SM Heaven flats are my absolute favorite! So comfy. I own like 3 or 4 pairs of them in different colors.
