10th Commandment: January 7

Jan 8, 2010

I am in desperate need of black pants.  All I own are skirts.  Tab front trousers with a wide or flare leg are flattering on every body.  The tab eliminates that jagged bulge in the stomach (a huge pet peeve of mine), and the trouser style fits a little loose and very comfortable.  They’re the perfect pant.

    Belle—

I’m a big fan of the black pant for those days at work when you roll out of bed and want to look put together, but are running out the door. Suprisingly, the best pair I’ve found (trouser/wide leg with a tabbed waistband, as you request) was at Ann Taylor Loft. I’ve had them since the intern days a few years ago, and they haven’t worn out, and still fit wonderfully! Plus, they are definitely in the staffer price range (maybe even the intern’s)—so stock up!

Agreed. I probably have the same black pants from AT Loft with the tabbed waistband and love them. This particular pair is not lined, but the material is heavy enough that they are both warm and very flattering.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
