BPGP: Fight the 'Lite

Jul 1, 2010

During the Summer, I try to spend at least three nights per week at my pool.  After all, I don’t pay that insanely pricey condo fee so that I can skip out on the major benefit of living in my building.  But recently, I noticed that the back of my thighs were looking well, a bit lumpy.

Cellulite.  Dammit.

One of the great myths about cellulite is that you can make it disappear.  You can’t.  I  and a half dozen pageant coaches, 35 body products, thousands of leg exercises and many nights spent sleeping in a Saran Wrap coccoon have proven that all you can do is minimize cellulite, not eliminate it.  But you know what?  Most of the time, minimization is all you need.

So if you want to tighten and smooth the skin on your upper thighs, there are a number of products that you can try.  I’ve tried all three of these products over the years and found that they work reasonably well.  Miracle cures they’re not, but you will notice some difference if you stick with it.  Too often, women start a beauty regimen and then quit when they don’t see immediate results.  So make sure you try a product for at least two weeks before you decide that it’s not working.

Fat Girl Sleep ($38)

Nivea Good-Bye Cellulite ($14)

Shiseido Body Creator ($65)

This product is by far my favorite.  I love the minty-citrusy scent, and the way it tingles when you apply it.  However, do not forget to wash your hands after you apply it.  You will be sorry.  Let’s just say that that same tingly feeling isn’t so lovely when it’s happening on your face.

Saw It On Social: Rooted

A few months ago, my husband killed two of my plants. I was out of town for several weeks, and while I was away, he apparently forgot that plants need water to live. So when I returned, my snake plant and my Calamondin tree were both dead, while his braided money tree continued to thrive. […]
