10th Commandment: February 15

Feb 15, 2011

For whatever reason, I’m really obsessed with orange right now.  I think it started last month when I saw a woman carrying this gorgeous orange satchel.  Something about the color just spoke to me and said, “I’m fun and bright, and you know you want to own me.”

Washi Wrap Skirt (Anthropologie, $88)

While this isn’t quite the punchy orange that I’ve been longing for, this origami pleated skirt is truly adorable.  The cinched grosgrain waist and puffed silhouette will make your waist look really tiny.  And since the shade is a bit more muted, you can wear it now with brown tights and boots and in two months with flats and a sleeveless blouse.

I too am obsessed with orange. I have been for awhile but not bold enough to wear it.
But it is drawing me in like matter into a quantum singularity.

It is fun! It is the sunny, happy, cheerful of yellow but without the cowardice crossed with the bold, assertiveness of red without the aggression. What's not to love?

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
