The March Edit

March.  Spring forward.  Sunshine almost every day.  Each time I walk outside, all I think is, “Oh, thank the Lord, we made it.”  Such a long winter.

Dressing for early spring is such a challenge.  The retailers are all selling pretty dresses in lovely colors, but it’s just a little too breezy and brisk for those.  But when you pull out your winter pieces, it feels like you’re denying the promise of spring.

So what do you buy?  What do you wear?

The classics you can wear all year long.  Build out your basics, ladies.

  • London Fog

    Trench Coat

This (beyond basic) classic is a must-have.  It’s professional, it’s casual, it’s whatever you need it to be.

  • Madewell

    Fleet Jacket

A short, casual jacket is a must-have. It dresses down or dresses up your basic pieces and isn’t too nice to get dirty.

  • Doma Joy

    Moto Jacket

Leather jackets are becoming a wardrobe staple for a lot of bloggers.  Cool, versatile, tons of attitude.

  • Hobbs London

    Cropped Jacket

This cropped, white jacket is a nice blazer alternative. It looks amazing over sheath dresses or with high waist pants.

  • Bloomingdale's

    V-Neck Sweater

Now is the time to be buying discount cashmere. This is a great sweater that comes in a lot of colors for $59.

  • Hinge

    Shaker Cardi

Layer this over work dresses or separates for a relaxed, modern look. The chunky stitch makes it cool.

  • Milly

    Silk Drape Dress

A dress that dreams are made of.  The drape, the color, the versatility. It’s just plain everything.  But not plain at all.

  • T Tahari

    Striped Shirtdress

A shirtdress is a relaxed choice for work. Switch out the silly ribbon belt and hem it a few inches for a sleek look.

    Dot-Cuff Wrap Dress

This printed wrap dress is a piece for casual Fridays or dressier work days. The button cuff-detail is so chic and cool.

Tuck this voluminous blouse into slim pants and skirts for chic look.  I love the look of the navy with black.
