Yesterday marked 11 years since I hit publish on Capitol Hill Style. It’s incredible to think about all that has happened and changed during that time, and how, despite all of those changes, this blog has remained.

On Friday, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale pre-sale event will be coming to a blog near you. Truthfully, I’ve loved the Anniversary Sale since I was a kid, but it’s gotten a bit out of control in blog land the past few years. Even the mention of #NSale is triggering for me.

Every morning, I open my three e-mail accounts and marvel at the number of unnecessary e-mails. Retailers, old subscriptions, notifications from social media, promotions — it’s an endless pile of unwanted digital correspondence and it’s weighing me down.
