The Work Pants I’ll Pay Full-Price For

Sep 9, 2022

In the age of perennial sales, it might seem silly to pay full-price for anything.  But I bought this pants last year, wore them so frequently they wore out, and was overjoyed to learn they were back.  So full-price is still a bargain in cost per wear.  Meet my favorite work pants.

These Ann Taylor High Waist Side-Zip Pants are amazing (00-18, petite).

First off, the side zip is flattering because it lays flat across the mid-section.  No annoying tab front closure poking out through your blouse.  And it is more forgiving to weight gain than a front closure (I wore mine for the first four-months of pregnancy).

Second, the material is a great weight.  It’s not too thick, not laughably thin.  It drapes beautifully.

Third, I bought both colors.  This is not a game.  Pants you love wearing is serious business.

Fourth, I may have also bought a backup pair.

If you want to wait for a sale, that’s your affair.  On a cost-per-wear basis, I will likely come out seriously ahead on this purchase at any price, and I am not willing to risk being without both colors in my needed size.  These pants are too important to my fall/winter wardrobe.

Pick them up today or bookmark them for the next sale, your choice.

“This is not a game.” Hahaha. I appreciate the personality behind your words and you are very convincing! I enjoy hearing about these wardrobe workhorses.

Side zip pants are much more flattering than front zip because there’s no extra fabric. I wish they were easier to find. Talbot’s has been my source for years but I’ll try Ann Taylor.
