Commute: No. 22

“The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.” — Dorothy Parker

Peak Earnings. For the first time, leggings are outselling denim.

Mercantile Exchange.  This red Steve Madden tote and this Street Level backpack are great weekend bags for under-$60.

Assessed Valuation. She said yes to everything for years.  Saying no, helped her get ahead at work.

Trading Floor. Size up in this cap-sleeve dress to get the perfect spring sheath.

Pay Scale. Why is it so hard for clothing companies to pay a living wage?

Newly Minted. This week’s arrivals at The Outnet include: an oversize pearl necklace, a great denim jacket and these super chic Sarah Jessica Parker flats.  Also, download their app, and you’ll save 50% on sale items purchased through the app.

Learning Curve. The eight things I learned from my first adult relationship.

Liquid Assets. I am completely obsessed with this No. 7 Radiance Boosting Primer. So glowy.

Forensic Analysis. The best questions to ask in your next job interview.

Golden Parachute. I don’t usually lust over designer pieces, but these Gucci heels have me positively shook.  The flats are pretty chic too.

Internal Reports. No one likes their regular trip to the GYN, but stop putting it off.  Here’s how to prepare, what questions to ask, and advocate for your health.

Sunshine Laws. These $59 Ted Baker aviators and these $98 grey tortoise BR sunnies are on my must-have for summer list.

Part Performance. The definitive guide to parting your hair, based on your face shape.

Hedge Funds. Yumi Kims spring dress collection is on point.  This green sheath, cobalt maxi, and this fun floral are all perfect for wedding guests.

Numbers Game. 10 phrases that make you seem less confident at work.

What I’m Reading. Beware the Past, a slightly predictable but still enjoyable crime novel.

What I’m Wearing on My Nails. Zoya Isadora.

What I’m Eating. Lamb meatballs. I serve them with a lot of veggies, tzatziki and hummus.

For a simple eye look, I love gold shimmer shadows.  This look is easy, fast and looks like a party.  Use a strong eye primer to keep it in place, and either a shimmery liquid shadow or a cream shadow.  Use an eyeliner pencil and good mascara to complete the look.  And do not forget to fill in your brows!

curious – have you shifted something about your affiliate link-through? knowing that’s a revenue stream for blog, I understand, but lately 100% of any shopping links are blocked by my security as phishing/malware. When I go to a less rigorous security system, all is good. I used to get one or two, but for the past week or so it’s all of them.

an fyi. if I feel strongly about checking out a style, i’ll grab mobile and turn off wifi to check it out, but the probability of me completing that act is about 15% versus 100% click-through on my desktop.

    great content – thanks!

That’s going to be more on the security protocol side of things than on Belle or even Shopstyle’s.

    • Belle says:

I don’t know if shopstyle has changed, maybe your anti-virus software has changed. No idea, that’s not something I control.

    • anna says:

I can’t see any of the Shopstyle links at work, but I’m not sure if that’s changed from before, since it’s a fairly new job. FWIW, my work blocks any ad click-through, even the ones that come up in Google searches. If I remember, I’ll check on my phone when I’m not on wifi, but more often than not I forget and end up not clicking to see what’s linked. It’s pretty annoying, but if that’s the way you make your money, I don’t see another option.

I love the gold shadow look! Any drugstore recommendations?
