Aside from last night, how was your time in Phoenix? Would you recommend the Andaz?

    • Belle says:

A billion times yes on the Andaz. I’m going to write up a whole post. K and I seem to be spending a lot of time in AZ lately.

  2. Orla says:

I love the article about the work uniform. Over a year ago, I transitioned to gray or black pants and a blue or white top. It was a great decision. It has resulted in fewer clothes in my closet but always something to wear. Now I am motivated to take it even further and break it down to one daily uniform! I think it is a fantastic idea.

    • Courtney says:

I’m just about to start my work uniform journey! I found one perfect black sheath dress and a package of three more duplicates arrived today. Nott sure how it will work out long term, but the anticipation of the change has been very calming.

      • Shannon says:

I was also fascinated by this article and thinking about how I could do this myself.

      • Shessomelicious says:

I like the idea of a uniform in theory, but really like having variety in my closet. Conundrum. The lady in the article has several versions of each piece, which at least gives some room for expression. I’ve been at my new job just shy of eight weeks and I have one coworker I’ve never seen in anything other than a light grey turtleneck and black polyester slacks. Pretty curious to see what happens in the summer!

        • ShannonS says:

Back in my office days, most of the time I wore a sleeveless blouse, a J Crew Factory Clare cardigan (I have one in almost every color) and a skirt (usually a pencil). I accessorized with a brooch, a gold or silver belt, and t-strap heels (I had bought the same pair in both gold and silver). Sometimes the blouse had a pattern, sometimes the skirt had a pattern. It kept things very ‘grab and go,’ but as far as anyone knew I had a varied wardrobe.

  3. Joan says:

On millennials, biggest problem I’ve seen is trying to take on big tasks before mastering the basics. One I worked with complained that she was under-used but she hadn’t proven herself capable of the more complex tasks and wasn’t interested in doing so. Another yawned, twice, after coming late to a meeting I called to discuss an important task that was falling through the cracks on her watch, in part. I work with several great millennials and so can’t generalize, to be fair, but I’ve known a couple who fit the stereotypes of seeming prematurely entitled.

  4. AOK says:

I developed a work uniform of black or navy pants, a top, and a coordinating cardigan or blazer. It’s a no-brainer. So much easier to get dressed.

Beauty Review: Bondi Boost

As I age, I notice many changes in my body. Most are fine. Some are frustrating. Like many women, I lost a lot of hair in my postpartum phase. Being anemic for more than a year after, it didn’t grow back in to its former glory. So I’ve tried any number of shampoos, pills and […]

I remember when Rochelle Behrens launched The Shirt — a button-down blouse with anti-gape technology (a patented internal button that keeps the look smooth). The Mondays: March 18, 2024

This weekend was a tricky one. The warm weather and bright sunshine of last weekend disappeared in a flurry of wet snow trapping our very active 18-month-old in the house with us. Plus, our babysitter cancelled, so neither of us feels ready for the week ahead. But in between making mac-and-cheese and watching Aristocats for […]
