1) On the day when Americans embrace a Mexican celebration that they know little about in order to eat tacos and drink Corona at Happy Hour, I bring you: a history lesson about Cinco de Mayo, ‘The Mystery Behind Who Really Created the Margarita‘ and Chipotle’s guacamole recipe.

2) This Forever21 quilted, blush satchel is the best looking under-$20 bag I’ve seen a while.

3) Levo League discusses whether ‘paying your dues’ a career must or a workplace dinosaur.  Personally, I believe time spent in the trenches is invaluable to guiding your career path and goals.

4) This mesh-accented dress from T Tahari offers a cool, modern look.  I think it would be a fun choice for dinner.  Just add sandals.

5) A writer at Marie Claire discusses body-shaming, bikinis, and how Selena Gomez gave her a boost of confidence.

6) Kate Spade has some cool jewelry right now.  This hinge bangle with mother-of-pearl accents is really chic.  I also like this blush enamel bangle.  And this open-work ring is a pretty little accent.

7) The Met Gala was last night.  Beyonce and J.Lo thought the them was wear as few clothes as possible without getting a citation for indecent exposure.  Rose Byrne and Amal Clooney looked great though.

  2. SN says:

I am so tired of the vulgarity of these soi-disant celebrities. What is wrong with leaving things to the imagination?

    • AG says:

Woah, made me look that one up! Thanks for teaching me a new word! On the actual subject of your post, it’s cheap and compensating for a lack of creativity. Sure, it’s easy to make headlines for being essentially naked on a red carpet, much harder to make headlines for being truly unique.

It’s allegedly spring. However, for every minute of sunshine, there seems to be an hour of rain and gloom. So while I’d love to wear lighter spring pieces, it’s time to bring on the layers.

Business Casual Outfit: Linen Closet

And just like that, it’s April. Summer is almost upon us, and the retailers are filled with linen wares. Now, you know that I am usually unwilling to wear linen to work due to the wrinkles. But in this post-pandemic world, perhaps my mind can change.
