Iris & Ink Ciara Jersey Dress ($150)

Iris & Ink is one of my favorite in-house brands.  Sold by The Outnet, the brand features great basics, many of them for under-$150.  This short-sleeve, midi-dress comes in basic black or a gorgeous shade of blue.  I also love the burgundy, draped dress that I showed on Friday.

Looking for tops?  They have you covered.  They offer chic blouses like this ivory tie-neck and this collarless button-up.  If casual tops and tees are more your speed, they sell some of the best.  I own this Breton-striped top ($65), and I love it.  This slub jersey tee ($35) and this long-sleeve grey tee are perfect for layering.

But my favorite Iris & Ink piece?  Without question, this crazy chic clutch in dark teal and black trim.  It has the look of Alexander Wang or Phillip Lim for under-$100.

    Hey Belle,
Love your site, wisdom, and information, but I am so not loving that video ad on the right side pannel. Every time I come to your site (basically everyday) this music starts blasting from my computer, which is totally embarrassing at work since everyone can hear them coming from my headphones. I would really appreciate it if you would consider a different media of advertisements on your site. I know you probably want the advertisement money, so just switching to less interactive ads would be wonderful! I’m sure I am not the only one with this problem. Thanks!! Love the blog!

Randi, I don’t know if this will help you, but, I paused the ad once. Since then every time I have come to this website the video is there with the play button on it waiting to be clicked on to be played rather than automatically starting when I open caphillstyle. I am using google chrome as my browswer, don’t know if that affects it too. Hope this helps you, I know I about fell out of my chair the first time it autoplayed having been listening to a deposition for work with the audio way up, haha.

      Agree w/ Randi. +1

      • N says:

Same! I pause, it comes back, etc. Cannot view site at work anymore. Please make it go away Belle–or silent video?

      • Lindsey says:

Same. Happy to see ads, not happy to have them blaring techno music early in the morning without my permission. Liz, I use Chrome and the pause button does not stay that way for me when I pull up the page later in the day.

        • Liz says:

Darn! I was so hoping I had found a solution for others 🙁
I don’t know why it is pausing for me, but it does make it nice, I too would be very bothered if it kept up!

          • Belle says:

I emailed the people who broker that ad space. I’m hoping we can fix it in the short term. If they’re planning to do these all the time, I’ll probably cut ties with them. I hate those ads too, but it doesn’t seem to come up for me automatically in Safari, so this may just be a browser issue they can fix.

        • Belle says:

Didn’t realize. Is it the top ad or one of the lower ones? I can get with my people and see if we can turn that off.

          • Randi says:

It’s the very top ad! Thanks so much! We really appreciate it!

            • Belle says:

So I talked to them. It’s not supposed to come up with audio automatically. It seems to be a browser issue, so they’re going to block it. It might take a few hours, but let me know if it keeps up after COB.

    • Belle says:

      Working on it.

Great picks! I’ll have to check Iris & Ink out.

The Find: A Striped Tee

Without question, the most worn item in my wardrobe is a black-and-white striped tee. I wear it in winter under sweaters, in spring with white jeans, in summer with black shorts. I’ve been wearing the same one for years (it’s the best). But they don’t make it anymore. So here are some options for replacement.

The Find: Like a McCall’s Pattern

When I was young, my Mother used to bring me along when she would go shopping for fabric. As a result, I spent a lot of time, killing time, flipping through pattern books. So when I spotted this dress, I was instantly transported to the pattern table at a Jo-Ann Fabrics.
