Need a Last Minute Gift? H. Bloom Has You Covered.

0

Simon Doonan and his partner Jonathan Adler are style geniuses of the highest order.  For this bouquet pairing, they combined their efforts to create a floral arrangement and gift that will brighten any woman’s Valentine’s Day.

The arrangement includes a beautiful bouquet combining roses and orchids, plus an extra bouquet in a Jonathan Adler “Vidalia” bud vase.  This way you can have one for your office and one for your workplace.  In addition to the flowers, you’ll receive a copy of Simon Doonan’s hilarious and informative book “Gay Men Don’t Get Fat.”

The price of this set is $125 for a one-time purchaser and $75 for H. Bloom subscribers.  So if you are looking to do something extra special for your girlfriend/best friend/Mom, you can set up for a monthly delivery of fabulous flowers for as little as $29 per bouquet.  This way you can show her that you appreciate and love her every month.

Note: This is not a sponsored post. I am a member of the H.Bloom 100, but they did not pay me for this post, they asked me for a favor promoting a bouquet that I think is lovely.

Consigment Shops Embrace the Interwebs

0

I do the majority of my shopping online.  This is partly because I work long hours, but mostly because I can always find my size online, I can always find the best price on my item and using eBates, I can earn cash back.  So why would I ever go to the mall?

Perhaps this is why I don’t spend as much time cruising local thrift, consignment and vintage stores.  I know that there are great deals to be had, but it just seems like such a hassle.  Enter Current Boutique, a local consigment boutuique who posts some of their recent acquisitions online

These Christian Louboutin wedges are calling my name!  Maybe I’ll take a trip to their Logan Circle location and do some shopping at an actual brick and mortar store? (Quelle horreur.)

Frankly, I think it’s a great idea for consignment shops to post photos of their wares online.  It lures people into the shop and helps you get a feel for what else you might find when you visit.  So is Current the only local shop that’s gotten into the act or do you ladies know of more forward-looking shops?

Sale: BCBG 30-Percent Off

0

I have a love/hate relationship with BCBG.  I own pieces from their lines that I love, but their schizophrenic sizing between pieces and inconsistent quality has kept me away recently.  So when I heard that they were having a 30-percent-off sale, I thought, “Meh.”

That is, until I saw some of the pieces on sale.

Haylan Striped Dress (BCBG, $258 – 30% = $181)

This is the perfect winter dress.  It’s different without being weird.  It’s modern without being too harsh.  And you can wear it on a date or just as easily wear it to the office.

Carlin Wool Trench Coat ($498 – 30% = $359)

This coat is amazing.  An update of  the classic trench shape, the coat looks just as chic buttoned or unbuttoned.  And since it’s camel, it blends seamlessly with every other color palette (black, grey, brown, navy).  So cool, so effortless.

Frankly, if I were going to take full advantage of this sale, I would skip the cheaply made sweaters and flimsy knits and focus on the handful of pieces that reach a bit higher.  Sales like this are perfect for splurging on one or two items, not filling your closet.

As for other pieces I loved: these wedge boots, leather-accented leggings and tasseled box-clutch also caught my eye.

Rebecca Minkoff Endless Summer Sale Tomorrow

0

Tomorrow, my favorite handbag designer, Rebecca Minkoff, is having a massive end of Summer sale.

Rebecca Minkoff’s bags are a great buy when they’re on sale.  They’re stylish, good quality and if you take care of them, they can last forever.  I own two Mini-MABs (black, ostrich) and a brown Mini MAC clutch, and I’m hoping to add another piece during the sale.

So mark your calendars, set your alarm clocks, empty your change jars and bookmark that link.  Because when this sale goes live, it will be mayhem.
